Why porcelain, and why it has to be installed right
Large-format porcelain is the most versatile surface on the market: heat-, scratch-, stain-, and UV-resistant, available in slabs big enough to clad a wall or a building with almost no seams. But those same properties make it demanding to fabricate and install. A slab that's mishandled can crack in an instant, and a poorly planned seam or façade anchor can't be hidden.

What is large-format porcelain?
Large-format porcelain (also called sintered stone) is an ultra-compact surface made from natural minerals fired at very high temperature. It comes in slabs up to roughly 126" x 63" and thicknesses from 6mm to 20mm+, making it ideal for countertops, full-height walls, floors, fireplaces, and exterior façades with minimal seams.
Is Prime Surfaces a certified porcelain installer?
Yes. We are a certified installer of Neolith, Dekton (Cosentino), Porcelanosa, and Daltile Panoramic. Large-format porcelain requires specialized handling, tooling, and technique — certification and experience matter, because the material is unforgiving of shortcuts.
Porcelain vs. quartz — which is better?

Can large-format porcelain be used outdoors?
Yes — porcelain is UV-stable and freeze-thaw stable, which is exactly why it's used for ventilated façades, exterior cladding, and outdoor kitchens. This is one of Prime Surfaces' core specialties.
